Scary and CB disagree this time. I’ve always been a fan of the EVO over the STI. Now I rarely see either but a couple years back I remember seeing way more STIs around than the EVOS. It will sound cheesey but seeing Tanner Foust face a downhill skier in the 1st season of Top Gear US really made me want a EVO X.

This reminds me that Mitsubishi may be the king of automotive bad decision making.

Not the car itself, but for killing it off. Also, for fattening and neutering the Eclipse. For killing off the Galant VR4. ...and don’t get me started about the 3000GT.

I have owned two WRX’s and a STI, but always secretly wanted a Evo IX.

I’ve always wanted to drive one with the dual clutch SST to see what it’s like. I’ve been tempted by them but also heard that the SST clutches wear out pretty quick and Mitsubishi’s solution is $8k to replace the whole transmission. There are a few shops that tear them down and rebuild for much less but it seems like a pain.

The biggest issue with the Evo X was that it was too expensive and it had gotten a little bit too heavy. I’ve autocrossed an Evo X (the one with the DSG) and I preferred my WRX.

I was sad to see the Evo go and hoped that we’d see an XI.
